Michael A. Troiano, DPM, FACFAS
Board Certified Foot & Ankle Surgeon
Dr. Michael A. Troiano, DPM, FACFAS, is a board certified foot, rearfoot, and reconstructive ankle surgeon (American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery) and a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He holds staff appointments and operating privileges at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital (Center City Main Campus), Jefferson Bucks Hospital, Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, and Jefferson Methodist Hospital.
Dr. Troiano specializes in the treatment of painful foot and ankle disorders, including total ankle replacement, limb salvage, complex reconstruction, and the care of complex foot and ankle fractures and trauma. He is a graduate of Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, where he now teaches as an adjunct clinical faculty member in the department of surgery, biomechanics, and MRI reading.
He completed his residency at Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia. He has a special interest in advanced wound care and treats patients at the Penn Wound Care Center. He is a nationally recognized lecturer and has authored several articles in peer-reviewed journals and books.

Harold D. Schoenhaus, DPM, FACFAS
Board Certified Foot & Ankle Surgeon
Dr. Harold Schoenhaus is a board certified foot, rear foot, and reconstructive ankle surgeon by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is a past president and current fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He holds staff appointments and operating privileges at the University of Pennsylvania Presbyterian Hospital and Chestnut Hill Hospital.
His research and clinical interests are in biomechanics, pathomechanics, and reconstructive surgery, including joint replacement surgery and pediatric podiatric surgery. He is the surgical editor for PRESENT e-Learning Systems and a nationally recognized lecturer and pioneer in the field of lower extremity pathomechanics and reconstructive surgery, and has authored several landmark articles in peer-reviewed journals and books.
Richard M. Jay, DPM, FACFAS
Board Certified Foot & Ankle Surgeon
Dr. Richard M. Jay has dedicated the last 40 years to his foot and ankle surgical practice and to medical education, specializing in complex and reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle and wound care. He is a retired Professor of Foot and Ankle Orthopedics at Temple University and former Director of the Foot and Ankle Surgical Residency Program and Medical Education at the Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia.
He has authored and edited 22 medical textbooks and over 40 surgical journal articles, and has lectured nationally and internationally at over 100 medical and surgical conferences on foot and ankle surgery, pediatrics, and diabetic wound management. He is the past president of the American College of Foot and Ankle Pediatrics and former section editor of the Journal of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is on clinical staff at the University of Pennsylvania Presbyterian and Pennsylvania Hospital.
Kelly Troiano, BSN, MS, WCC
Wound Care Specialist and Coordinator of Research
Kelly Troiano, BSN, MS, WCC, is a certified master-level wound care nurse with more than 30 years of experience. A graduate of Drexel University, she began her career at Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia, where she quickly found her passion for wound care, and has spent the greater part of her career caring for patients with a wide range of wound care needs.
Kelly managed and grew the Penn Presbyterian Wound Care Center and helped develop and implement its hyperbaric oxygen program. At the Center for Foot and Ankle Disorders, she continues to care for patients with lower extremity wounds and serves as the practice's Coordinator of Research, overseeing its clinical studies in advanced wound care.
Kelly holds a Master of Science with a concentration in Forensic Medicine from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and is regularly sought out for consultation and case review on legal matters involving wound care and related issues. Her areas of focus include diabetic foot care, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and patient education.
Jeffrey Craig Paruszewski, DPM
Podiatric Care
Dr. "Craig" Paruszewski was born and raised in Salem County, NJ. After attending college at the United States Military Academy, he served as an officer in the Army. During Dr. Craig's time in the Army, he experienced significant foot pain, so he knows firsthand how much chronic foot pain can negatively affect your daily life.
Dr. Craig graduated from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and completed a three-year surgical residency. He has a strong interest in sports medicine, gait analysis, orthotic management, and surgery.
In his free time, Dr. Craig enjoys playing the guitar, flying helicopters and small planes, and spending time with his wife and children.
Joseph Rossi, DPM
Fellow
Originally from Louisiana, Dr. Rossi came to Philadelphia to pursue his passion for foot and ankle surgery at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. He completed his residency training at Jefferson Health Northeast and is currently completing the Pennsylvania Intensive Lower-Extremity Fellowship, where he is continuing to develop his expertise in complex foot and ankle surgery. He is board qualified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS).
Dr. Rossi has a particular interest in lower-extremity trauma and reconstructive surgery. He is passionate about getting to know his patients, understanding their goals, and providing thoughtful, individualized care. His goal is to help each patient get back to the active, healthy lifestyle they enjoy.
Sevtap Hatice Demirci, DPM
Incoming Fellow
Dr. Sevtap Hatice Demirci, DPM, is completing her fourth and final year of residency in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania and will join the Center for Foot and Ankle Disorders as its incoming fellow. Her training has centered on the management of complex foot and ankle conditions, including forefoot and rearfoot reconstructive surgery, diabetic limb salvage, and the evaluation and treatment of acute foot and ankle trauma. With broad experience in both surgical and non-surgical care, she focuses on individualized treatment plans that help patients restore function and return to their daily lives.
A graduate of Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, Dr. Demirci earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland and completed a graduate certificate program at the Medical College of Virginia. She has contributed to published research on diabetic foot ulcer treatment, external fixation, and reconstructive techniques, and has presented her work at Penn Medicine. Her leadership roles have included Vice President of the American Association of Women Podiatrists and Vice President of the American Society of Podiatric Surgeons, and she received Temple's Dean's Leadership Award in 2022.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Demirci has volunteered in the Boston Marathon medical tent and founded a student volunteer organization at the University of Maryland. She is fluent in Turkish.
Edward L. Chairman, DPM, FACFAS
Board Certified Foot Surgeon
Dr. Edward Chairman is a board certified foot surgeon by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He completed his undergraduate degree at Temple University and went on to the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine.
In practice since 1970, Dr. Chairman retired after 50 years of dedicated service, and remains connected to the practice as physician emeritus.
