The Center for Foot and Ankle Disorders conducts clinical research in advanced wound care in partnership with Symphony Research, with Dr. Michael Troiano, DPM, serving as Principal Investigator. Participants receive no-cost study-related wound care, complimentary transportation, and time-and-travel compensation.
Research in Advanced Wound Care
Clinical research studies help evaluate new and emerging approaches to caring for chronic wounds. As a practice, participating in research is part of how we advance the standard of care for our patients. We are currently enrolling for two studies focused on two of the most common and challenging chronic wounds of the lower extremity.
Diabetic Foot Ulcer (DFU) Study
For adults living with a diabetic foot ulcer.
Diabetic Foot Ulcer and Venous Leg Ulcer (DFU/VLU) Study
For adults living with a diabetic foot ulcer or a venous leg ulcer.

Each study has its own eligibility criteria set by the study protocol. In general, our wound care research involves patients living with chronic diabetic foot ulcers or venous leg ulcers.
Our team can help you understand whether a current study may be a fit for your situation. Eligibility is always confirmed by the study requirements and a clinical evaluation.

- Not currently enrolled in another clinical trial
